Pumahuanca
Photographic Exploration of a Sacred Valley

As we ascend the Pumahuanca pass, we enter a natural sanctuary where the interplay of shadow and light is revealed along the trail. The camera becomes a tool for contemplation, capturing the texture of tree trunks, the shimmering of water, and the infinite shades of green. Approaching the Temple of the Ñustas, we practice more symbolic photography, seeking to convey the subtle energy of the place through our images.

FAQ
Who can participate in the PhotoTreks?

PhotoTreks are open to everyone, whether you are an amateur or professional photographer. If you have an interest in photography and want to capture authentic landscapes and moments in nature, you are welcome, regardless of your photography level.

What photography equipment should I bring?

We recommend bringing a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or a smartphone with good photo capabilities. If you have a specific lens in mind (wide-angle, zoom), feel free to bring it. A tripod can also be useful, but it is not required.

Do I need to be an experienced photographer to participate?

No, experience is not a prerequisite. If you have a passion for photography and want to learn, PhotoTreks are the perfect opportunity to improve your skills while being guided by a professional photographer. The sessions will include tips and advice to help you progress.

What activities take place during a PhotoTrek?

PhotoTreks combine hiking in unique locations with dedicated time for photography. You will learn how to capture light, colors, textures, and the emotions of the landscapes. There will also be photo sessions and technical discussions about composition and camera settings.

What physical condition is required to participate?

PhotoTreks generally include moderate hikes, so a basic level of fitness is recommended to fully enjoy the experience. If you have any specific concerns, we encourage you to discuss them with us before signing up.

Is equipment provided?

No, each participant must bring their own photography equipment. However, we can provide accessories such as protective filters or reflectors if needed. Please make sure you have a fully charged battery and enough memory card space.

What type of photography will I learn or develop?

You will have the opportunity to explore landscape photography, nature portraiture, and more technical aspects such as managing natural light and visual composition. There will also be opportunities to share and discuss the artistic side of photography.

What if I don’t have a professional camera?

That’s not a problem. You can participate with a simpler camera or even a smartphone. The goal is to capture the moment and express your creativity, no matter what equipment you use.

Do PhotoTreks take place in the rain?

PhotoTreks will go ahead unless there are extreme weather conditions. The soft light on rainy days can create unique photographic atmospheres, but if conditions become unsafe, we will reschedule or adjust the itinerary.
